Are you wondering what movies and series on Passionflix are worth checking out?
Are you a new Passionflix subscriber seeking the next dose of cheesy love stories and guilty pleasures? Wondering what’s best among the sappy romances, passionate moments, and questionable acting? Look no further. I have tested Passionflix for two months and watched their entire offer.
Here are the best 11 movies and series currently available on Passionflix.
1. The Will
After inheriting her grandmother’s estate, Josephine discovers a surprising stipulation in the will. Grandma had a flair for the dramatic when she decided to “bequeath” her to Jake — a single dad, amateur boxer, and strip club owner all rolled into one. Because there is nothing better for “coming to terms with loss” than a guy running a strip joint. As they navigate the challenges of the last wishes, simmering tension and not-so-unexpected romance arise.
Forget youthful exuberance — the film gears toward a more mature audience. While single-parent movies tend to focus on more grown-up (aka boring) romances, The Will doesn’t shy away from steamy scenes. With themes like forgiveness and second chances, as well as better acting, this movie packs a stronger punch. Rating: 8/10
2. A Wicked Trilogy: Wicked
After losing everything, Ivy has sworn to hunt down the jerks who wrecked her life — Fae. She’s even joined a secret club whose main hobby is slaying the supernatural creatures. Enter Ren, the newest recruit, and lo and behold, sparks start flying. As Ivy and Ren cozy up, it turns out they’re both hiding something. Now Ivy’s torn between battling ancient creatures and dodging the covert heartthrob who’s after her heart.
Based on the eponymous novel by Jennifer L. Armentrout, Wicked is an okay adaptation. If you’re willing to squint and overlook low visual-effects quality, you might find yourself entertained. Rating 7/10
3. A Wicked Trilogy: Torn
Betrayed and almost snuffed by the Prince of the Fae, Ivy Morgan is left with a life-altering secret. Revealing it to the order means a one-way ticket to the afterlife. Even Ren, Mr. Duty Pants himself, is torn between his newfound feelings for Ivy and his allegiance to the Order. He might kill her if he knew the truth. And just when things couldn’t get more bonkers, cue the Fae Prince ready to destroy the entire world.
The second installment of the series ups the dramatic ante, and you’ll find yourself more invested in this story world and the people living in it. The transition from looking normal to bad wigs is really distracting, though. Rating 7/10
4. The Secret Life of Amy Bensen
Amy, an unlucky soul, has been playing hide-and-seek ever since her family mysteriously died in a house explosion. She has been living a new life under a new identity for years. Just when she thought she could finally relax, bam! She is discovered, and back to the hideout she goes. Enter Liam Stone, a recluse billionaire and acclaimed architect with a penchant for dark corners and even darker pasts. A man who knows what he wants and goes after it, refusing to take no for an answer. And what he wants is Amy…
This is the classic case of “the book was better”. The plot twists may seem exaggerated and a tad cringe-worthy, especially when spoken in dialogue. However, the portrayal of dominant-submissive dynamics steers clear of the usual misogyny. Two seasons are currently available. Rating 7/10
5. Hollywood Dirt
When Hollywood’s hottest hunk, Cole Mason, swaggers into a small town, Summer, a local girl, isn’t exactly swooning. The two worlds — the Hollywood flashiness and the small-town close-knit community — often clash. But Cole’s in for a rude awakening when he realizes that not every girl is ready to throw themselves at his feet. And that southern hospitality can quickly turn into raging fire if he does not watch his manners.
The classic tale of Hollywood heartthrob meets small-town sass, where you know from the beginning how things unfold. But sometimes that is what you want. The chemistry is working, and you’ll also get a few laughs. Rating 6/10
6. Tangled
Drew Evans – a Wall Street king who seals multimillion-dollar deals and breaks hearts before breakfast. Enter Katherine Brooks: brilliant, beautiful, and determined to put Drew’s playboy antics to shame. How will this epic battle of egos and ambitions end? Will Drew learn to humble himself? Or will he crash and burn to ashes?
This reformed-rake romcom will not provide unexpected twists or leave you crying from laughing. Don’t expect any mind-bending plot twists, and you won’t be disappointed. This is more like a gentle chuckle on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Rating 6/10
7. The Matchmaker’s Playbook
Meet Ian, the charming matchmaker with a knack for turning even the most hopeless cases into Casanovas. His business has only one rule: “Don’t fall for a client.” But when he’s tasked with transforming Blake, a walking disaster in the romance department, into a dateable specimen, things take an awkward turn. Because, of course, Ian can’t help but catch feelings for his own handiwork.
The chemistry among the main characters might be about as electric as a damp sock. But the movie has a nice, leisurely flow to it, and the actors are fun to watch. A romcom suitable for evenings when the main goal is a glass of wine and nothing to think about. Rating 6/10
8. Gabriel’s Inferno Series
By day, Professor Gabriel Emerson, a revered Dante specialist exudes charm and respectability. By night, he immerses himself in a hedonistic pursuit of pleasure. Despite his outward success, Gabriel grapples with a tortured past and a deep conviction that redemption is beyond his reach. The arrival of a sweet and innocent graduate student, Julia Mitchell, disrupts his carefully constructed world.
Passionflix’s flagship original falls short of the finish line. Tosca Musk has a penchant for long dialogues dragging like snails on tranquilizers. Giulio Berruti is exceptionally well cast (though his Italian twang occasionally slips through), but Melanie Zanetti’s virginal innocence feels about as genuine as mine. If you’re a die-hard fan of the books, you might find some solace. If not, stock up on the tissues. Rating 5/10
9. Wait With Me
When a struggling writer, Kate Smith, finds herself stranded at a tire shop with a grumpy yet undeniably hot mechanic, Miles Hudson, sparks start flying. As they navigate car troubles, awkward encounters, and a healthy dose of sexual tension, Kate wonders if this unexpected pit stop might just lead to a happily ever after — or at least a decent oil change.
There are no shocking twists or jaw-dropping revelations here, but the movie will squeeze a crack of a smile from you. So prepare for a heartwarming joyride through the wonderfully predictable world of romcom bliss. Rating 5/10
10. Driven
Colton Donavan, the bad boy of the racetrack, lives his life in the fast lane — literally and figuratively. He’s got success, adoring fans, and a reputation for causing chaos wherever he goes. But there’s one thing he can’t seem to conquer: Rylee. She’s the one woman who’s managed to resist his charm, and boy, does that irk him. With a heart on the mend and a soul in need of some serious TLC, Rylee isn’t exactly looking for a high-speed romance. Can these two opposites make it work?
First, let’s address the elephant in the room: the main actor swap after the first season. Let’s just say it’s not a change for the better. Also, this is one of the OGs of Passionflix, back when the platform was still finding its footing (and funding). This translated to slightly dodgy CGI and sets that look like they were borrowed from a high school theater production. Despite its flaws, “Driven” still delivers some guilty pleasure entertainment. Rating 4/10
11. Afterburn / Aftershock
This flick follows the adventures of Gia Rossi, a badass businesswoman who’s all about climbing the corporate ladder. But things take a spicy turn when she crosses paths with Jackson Rutledge, a wealthy playboy with a knack for stirring up trouble. Cue the fireworks as these two ignite a romance that results in a steamy corporate “merger”.
Another earlier addition on Passionflix and you know what that means. Cringe and cheap visuals. The MMC actor is sexy though and practically the only reason I included the movie on the list. Rating 4/10
Conclusion
So there you have it — Passionflix’s greatest hits.
The main takes are: a) lower your expectations in terms of production quality, and b) newer films are better than the older ones. And if it’s directed by Tosca Musk, you want to proceed with caution. She loves marathon-length dialogues and even longer scenes.
All in all, Passionflix is a cinematic journey filled with passion, drama, predictable plots, and the occasional eye-roll. But if you are looking for guilty pleasure movies to take your mind off your existential crisis, it’s definitely worth checking out.

The Matchmaker’s Playbook was awesome. The lead is so cute. This is the only movie so far of all of these I Enjoyed. Driven’s first season was corny but I grew to like it.
RantsOnRomance says
The lead of The Matchmaker’s Playbook is indeed cute! Gabriel from Gabriel’s Inferno does it for me (just my type) but the movies get so cringy 🙁
How about Hollywood Dirt?
